KASPER ASGREEN PARTICIPATES IN THE LE TOUR REVENGE 2021

Kasper Asgreen, winner of Tour of Flanders, confirms his participation in this year’s the Le Tour Revenge in the City of Sound, Struer. The cycling star will defend his title following winning the first of its kind in 2019.

When the Le Tour Revenge kicks off on Wednesday 4th August 2021, the cycling audience can experience one of the most exciting international riders, Kasper Asgreen. 

The Deceuninck-Quick-Step rider will be riding in distinguished company with Denmark’s cycling star Jakob Fuglsang and the double stage winner in the Tour de France 2021, Soren Kragh Andersen. Both who earlier this year signed up to participate. In addition to the well-known stars, the field will consist of up to 50 riders, including several Danish and foreign Tour riders and Danish amateur riders.

On Sunday 4th April 2021 Asgreen won the biggest title of his career with incredible speed. With 250 meters to the finish line he sprinted and in a close race with world star Mathieu Van der Poel, he managed to be the first one to cross the finish line. Asgreen is only the second Dane in history to win the Belgian race Tour of Flanders. Asgreen says:

“It was an excellent experience to participate in the Le Tour Revenge back in 2019, and I am pleased that it is becoming a reality again in 2021. I cannot wait to give all the Danish cycling fans a fantastic experience and of course defend my title.” 

Kasper Asgreen participated in the Le Tour Revenge 2019, where he in the best way, ended up taking the title as the winner of the race in Struer. He cannot wait to defend his title and is looking forward to having the opportunity to participate in the race again. 

Another person pleased to have such a strong field is Struer’s Mayor Niels Viggo Lynghoj: 

“We have the strongest and most exciting field for a city race in 2021, with the three mentioned riders to start at the Le Tour Revenge. We are looking forward to seeing everyone in the field and the many spectators, who will hopefully turn up again and help us create such unique an atmosphere as they did in 2019.”
